Well, this is how Blood and Roses started. These nine (ok, eight) little beauties were the original pictures for chapter one. However, I quickly realized that teenagers could not do the "leap into arms" hug, and abandoned the family. I remade everyone except for Ian (I just made him an adult) and his dad, Michael, and added Loretta (she wasn't part of the plan until then). So I started over, building a similar house for the Johnsons and modifying the amount of snowfall....See how I had to make Ian Jr. "pick up" Erika Jr. on the pavement?
And then I had the problem of: my sims wouldn't fall over asleep. It was pretty much a disaster. I'd already used the "dance machine fall" once, and it didn't fit right for what I needed to do later in the chapter. So then Vessie comes over, we work on the chapter, and she says "just see if they'll fall over. Maybe it'll work." Guess what? It did. My sims never had a problem falling over again. (Note at that time I didn't have any anim boxes except for Paul's Reaction Tester)
So the chapter progressed rapidly. Funny thing is, it had no script. I was completely making stuff up as I went along; that's why both chapters one and two have flaws in the storyline--no planning. Despite that, I managed to upload it to the exchange and got a pretty enthusiastic response from other simmers. That basically encouraged me to continue the story, and now I am, completely finished and working on the sequel---at 156 pages in a word document.
